The main thing with boots is comfort. Comfortable boots are the best boots for men. You do not want them to be too tight to where they hurt your feet. They also need to be big enough that you can wear good boot-socks in them. The socks cushion your feet and wick all the foot sweat that is created every time you wear them. (Yeah that causes the stank!) The same size in different style boots may not fit the same. Be sure to TRY THEM ON!
If you are looking for rain boots or snow boots you should think about what conditions you will be in and what you want them to do. Cowboy and western-style boots have come a long way in the last 20-30 years. When I was just a young Metroneck there were not very many “cowboy boots” available. We had those gray plastic-looking deals that we got on Christmas morning and slid on with our superman pajamas and ice skated around the house and kicked our sister in the shins with. (AHH YES I JUST HAD A FLASHBACK! NICE!)
